Cella, founded on 1897,Cella has been producing and selling instruments
designed by its own technicians. The business began with manometers,
simple measuring instruments that were in great demand by industries in the
early 20th century as they started to "modernize" and mechanize their
production processes. In the 1930s, with the development of aviation,
manometers were joined by aeronautic instruments (fuel gauges, oil pressure
and temperature gauges, and speedometers). This type of product
helped the company acquire more sophisticated construction technologies,
along with notions of quality control. Those notions were updated and
developed constantly and still form the philosophy of the company and
its staff. In the 50s, the radical changes in Italy?s whole industrial
structure and the growing need to produce energy led to the conception
of new products with good prospects for commercial success. The result ?
The design, pilot production, qualification testing, field testing, and
temperature switches that still form the core of our business.
